Face Recognition based Portable Self-maneuver Care Taker Assistant for Hospitals and Old age homes

In the Hospitals or the Old Age Homes where multiple people have to be taken care by a limited number of staff members, it becomes difficult to differentiate and remember that which patient or elderly person needs what and when. For this, currently, the nurses or the care taking staff maintains their diaries and disperse and deliver the medicines and food items appropriately. However, Medication misuse among the elderly has become a common issue in the healthcare industry, even if the medicines are taken by the patients they may tend to take wrong medicines at the wrong time. To counter this issue we propose a Portable Self Maneuvering Robotic Assistant which will be able to deliver the medicines to the correct patient when planned and informed in advance. For this we propose a mechanism, which will be able to remind about the medicine timings and also inform the caretaker to make sure that the medicine is delivered to the correct patient. For this the caretaker or the nurse will load the robot with the correct medicine / Food etc. and inform the robot about the patient ID. The vehicle will automatically be able to go to the destination and deliver the same. Further to add in the authentication of the caretaker or the nurse, to verify the genuineness of the person, we propose a Face Recognition to be added onto it so that only the authorized person will be able to control the vehicle.
