The integration of politics, economy, culture and science and technology has accelerated the pace of international cooperation, therefore, it is increasingly important and urgent to foster ESP (English for Specific Purposes) talents to meet the needs of the country and society. Only by cultivating diversified ESP talents can China be able to keep up with the trend of the times and cooperate closely with other countries in the world and achieve win-win results. Under the context of cross-cultural communication, the paper is to explore a new approach to English teaching through the combination ESP with intercultural communication and provides some systematic ESP teaching strategies and interpreting ESP teaching.This teaching model should aim at cultivating students’ cross-cultural awareness and enhancing their intercultural communicative competence so as to develop students’ international cultural vision and cultivate ESP talents with professional knowledge from all walks of life.
