A New Determination Method of Nitrogen in Insulating Paper

A new method for the determination of N in insulating paper by element analyzer was introduced in this paper. First, the principle of the determination was briefly introduced, and the influence of the combustion temperature and the sample amount on the determination results were also discussed. The results showed that the thermal conductivity detector (TCD) had a good linear response to nitrogen, the correlation coefficient of the standard curve reached 0.9999; when the sample volume was 100mg, the detection limit was 0.38 mg/g; the recovery rate of the method was between 95.7%~100.7%. Two kinds of insulating papers with obvious nitrogen content were tested for 6 times. The relative standard deviations (RSD) (n=6) of high and low nitrogen contents were 2.4% and 13.3%, respectively.
