Energy analysis of hydrogen-rich gas coupled heating power polygeneration system based on solar thermal driven biomass gasification in supercritical water

The technology of biomass supercritical water gasification provides a novel way to convert biomass to hydrogen rich gas and to generate heating power. Solar energy is clean and renewable which can be utilized to provide heat for the gasification process. Solar thermal driven biomass gasification system can produce hydrogen rich gas and improve the solar energy flux density. Moreover, the higher energy state heat is used to generate power and the lower energy state heat can supply heat for resident, which realizes classified utilization of energy. However, energy efficiency of this system is not high enough. To realize wide application of this technology, exploring the optimum gasification condition to improve gasification efficiency is necessary. In this paper, the influence of gasification temperature 650-900℃, biomass concentration 5%-17.5%, mass flow of water 850-1100kg/h,mass flow of biomass 150-600kg/h on the energy efficiency were studied. The results showed that the energy efficiency of this system reached 74.84% at the condition of 700℃, biomass concentration of 17.5% and water mass flow of 900kg/h.
