Now in this competitive era it has become very essential for retail organizations to retain old customers simultaneously attract new customers. To fulfill this need Business organizations are taking up many approaches to smooth the progress of their customers in various ways, To bound customers purchasing from them market basket analysis technique using Association Rule Mining is one of the techniques that makes out the associations amongst the items sold collectively by using Market basket analysis. This association rule analysis technique is also used for various advantages like; Identifying the majority of sold products, Identifying customers on the basis of their purchasing behavior. Several researchers have implemented varioust algorithms for Association rule mining, This paper comprises results of association rule mining using Apriory Algorithm in Weka and R programming .On the basis of results a comparative analysis being made between R and Weka. This paper uses the transaction data of Sales (a Grocery store) for experiment.
