In order to accurately predict the acid dew points of flue gas in coal-fired boilers, and to seek a more suitable method of acid dew point for practical operation, a self-designed device of acid dew point is used to test different coal samples. The device is based on one-dimensional furnace combustion system. The result shows that there is a strong correlation between the acid dew points and the sulfur dioxide concentration. According to the measured data, a calculation formula of acid dew points based on the sulfur dioxide concentration is proposed. Subsequently, the acid dew points of flue gas at the outlet of air preheater of a 1000MW unit in Guangdong is measured actually, and the accuracy of the method and common formulas is validated by the field measured values in recent years. It is concluded that the formula proposed in this paper has higher accuracy than the common ones, and the error is less than 3℃ compared with the mean values of field measurements.
