The energy local area network (LAN) acts as an important component of Energy Internet. With the integration of multi-types of energy storage (ES), energy LAN becomes more flexible and efficient. This paper presents a region-specific methodology for analyzing the market potential of energy LAN integrated with heterogeneous ES. The main steps of the proposed method can be summarized as typical user profiles generation, regional energy consumption estimation, profit calculation and financial analysis. As a result, financial indicators like internal rate of return (IRR) provided by the method are used for market potential analysis. Finally, the case study evaluates and ranks the market potentials of 10 selected regions, indicating that regions with high proportion of manufacturing users and hotel buildings are more profitable to operate as energy LANs.
