The hydraulic generator can be combined by a DC motor and a synchronous generator. Connect the motor rotor to the synchronous generator rotor to transfer energy. The research emphases of DC motor and synchronous generator are speed control and excitation control respectively. Based on power system dynamic simulation laboratory, this paper first analyzes the working characteristics of hydroelectric generator. After that, it designs a scheme applicable to speed control and excitation control of hydroelectric generator, and builds a simulation platform of hydroelectric generator based on MATLAB /Simulink.
