Optimal method of lightning protection for power grids considering economic loss by voltage sag

The installation of lightning protection technical solutions on the power grid for lightning protection is an important measure to reduce the economic loss of sensitive users by voltage sag. Taking into account the relevance and contradiction between the mitigation investment and benefits of the lightning protection scheme, in order to establish the most economical lightning protection scheme, a power grid lightning protection optimization scheme model considering the user's enconomic loss caused by voltage sag is established. Consider a variety of lightning protection technologies and their combinations as alternatives for lightning protection, analyze their technical effects and evaluate the shielding failure flashover rate before and after the mitigation in combination with the regulation method, and apply it to the fault positions method and the voltage  tolerance curve of sensitive users to evaluate the technical benefits of lightning protection scheme. Taking the sum of the economic loss of the sensitive users caused by voltage sag and the life cycle cost of the lightning protection scheme as the optimization target, the artificial bee colony(ABC) is used to solve the optimal power grid lightning protection scheme. The proposed model is simulated and verified by IEEE 30-bus system to prove the effectiveness of the proposed method.
