摘要
The transverse-flux flux-reversal PM motor (TF-FRM), which combines the technologies of transverse-flux motor and flux-reversal motor, has been proposed in forgoing work to improve the torque generation capability of motor. However, one issue of TF-FRM is the high cogging torque during rotation, especially, when the motor is designed as an external rotor structure with a large gap diameter. This paper aimed to propose an improved configuration based on structural parameter optimization for cogging torque reduction in TF-FRM. Firstly, the mathematical expression of cogging toque in TF-FRM is derived analytically. Then, the preliminary optimization of basic dimension is done by finite element method to reduce the cogging torque. At last, the performance comparison is done between original configuration and improved one. The result indicates that the proposed topology can effectively reduce cogging torque and torque ripple, meanwhile, slightly increase the electromagnetic torque.
