Digital twin technology is an excellent way to integrate electromechanical devices with various information technologies. At first, this article presents the theoretical development process and application practice of digital twin technology. After that, it focuses on the utilization of digital twin in electric power industry, basically including digital twin in electric power grid construction, digital twin power plant structure construction, digital twin power equipment and other aspects. Finally, the characteristics of digital twin in electric power industry are summarized and some application prospects are put forward as well.
