摘要
Pumped Hydro Storage (PHS) takes the most significant percentage of the energy storage market. However, due to the increasing penetration of renewable energy, PHS needs more flexibility to handle the massive fluctuation. In this paper, the cooperation of a hybrid energy storage system including PHS and battery is proposed. The head effect of PHS is described as a quadratic function of net head and water volume then linearized through the piecewise linearization technique. Also, mode transformation of the turbine is extended to Synchronous Condenser mode, applying Mixed Integer Linear Programming (MILP). In addition, the operation of PHS and battery storage is coordinated by multi-objective with Min-Max normalization, allocating energy within the hybrid system. Moreover, the life loss of the battery is evaluated based on Depth of Discharge (DOD) through the same linearization technique applied on PHS. Real data taken from Tai’an power plants, which have a capacity of 1000MW, validate the effectiveness of the model. Results present the unique role of each component in the system and the effective of lifetime prediction model of the battery.
