摘要
Walking comfort of pedestrian on street sidewalk may be affected by various factors. Because there are many kinds of influencing factors, their importance and the relationship with comfort are difficult to estimate. Therefore, in most of current studies, only a small number of factors are analyzed, which makes it difficult to comprehensively evaluate pedestrian comfort. This work reports the identification of the key factors in influencing travel comfort of pedestrian focusing on the pedestrian facilities, walking environment, traffic and traveler’s characteristics. The initial factors include personal characteristics factors and external factors. A two-stage online survey procedure was produced. In the first stage, Plackett Burman (P-B) design method of screening is applied to produce scenarios of questionnaire, and select eight factors from external factors. In the second stage, these eight factors are combined with eight personal characteristics factors for being screened. Two types of multinomial logistic and ordinal regression models are used for determining the significant factors (i.e. variable selection) on pedestrian comfort. The results show that gender, age, exercise frequency and occupation are significant personal characteristic factors. Wind, traffic noise, rain, snow and green belt are the important external factors. At last, these key factors are analyzed by ordinal logistic model, and the parameters of each variable are explained. This study provides a theoretical guiding for planning and construction of pedestrian sidewalk facilities.
