Under the background that urban renewal has become a strategic choice to promote the high-quality development of domestic cities, the people-centered street space remodeling has ushered in a good opportunity. The influence of urban renewal on street design is analyzed, and four key problems in the current street cross-section design are summarized: the unsmooth management and control mode, the need to motivate the concept and method, the need to optimize the standard requirements, and the inconvenient design path. By drawing on the relevant experience of advanced cities and regions at home and abroad, such as the United States, Hong Kong and Singapore, for the cross-section design of domestic streets, optimization suggestions are put forward from the aspects of building concession space management and control, institutional mechanisms, standard requirements, method and path operability, in order to provide reference for optimizing relevant norms and standards and guiding engineering practice.
