A methodological approach has been developed to substantiate the progressive parameters of the slopes of ledges and sides of quarries, based on conducting complex geomechanical studies of rocks directly in the instrument arrays using cores of specially drilled engineering-geological wells to determine the size of structural blocks, the array quality index and the structural attenuation coefficient and parallel laboratory study of the strength and physical properties of rocks. The assessment of the stability of the sides of the quarry is determined by various calculation methods, which makes it possible to verify their reliability and good convergence. Progressive parameters of the slopes of the ledges and sides of the quarry are recommended at their height of 300 m with their angles of inclination up to 50o with a sufficient coefficient of stability margin, which must meet regulatory requirements, above 1.3.
