Electromagnetic simulation and optimization of a wound resolver

In this paper, according to the basic principle of the resolver, the structure of a wound resolver is designed. The main parameters of stator, rotor, two-phase signal windings and excitation winding are selected respectively. A model of two pole pairs of wound resolver is obtained, and the rationality of the structure design is verified by the simulation of the magnetic field distribution and the waveform of output electromotive force(EMF). Then, Fourier analysis is carried out on the envelope of the output EMF waveform to calculate the total harmonic distortion. On this basis, the influence of the number of pole pairs on the wound resolver is studied with the measurement accuracy as the goal. Under the condition of the same number of stator teeth and rotor slots, the wound resolver with one pole pair, two pole pairs and four pole pairs is simulated. The principle correctness of these models is verified by magnetic field distribution. The measurement accuracy is compared and analyzed to obtain the change rule of measurement accuracy when the pole pairs change, which provides a basis for further optimization of structural parameters.
