Design of a wireless torque measurement system for real-time monitoring of marine shaft

In this research, we present a high-precision wireless torque measurement system. Precision chips and strains gauge are adopted for the torque measurement. An OC-type wireless electromagnetic energy transmission module was integrated for continuous power supply. In addition, noise suspension methods in both hardware and software levels were adopted. This system was developed for instantaneous torque measurement on marine rotary shafts. Real-time data were transmitted to the host module for torque monitoring. Experiments illustrated that this system has a grade of accuracy up to 0.1 in the range of 10~1000 Nm.
