Due to in a high temperature, high humidity and high dust environment with strong workload when Coal miners work in deep shafts, they are facing many problems in respiratory protection. In view of this, this paper takes 1,498 dust catchers in five major coal-producing provinces as the research object, and conducts questionnaires on five aspects: basic information of the miners surveyed, knowledge of occupational health, dust catching situation, current situation of respiratory protective equipment use, and current situation of respiratory protective equipment management. The survey results show that the types of dust that miners are exposed to are mainly coal dust, silica dust and other inorganic dusts, 69% of the miners exceed the dust exposure limit, 15% of the miners have a history of pneumoconiosis, and more than half of the miners are still unaware of the occupational health knowledge. However, 45% of the miners are still not satisfied with the management of protective equipment in the enterprise. Therefore, the respiratory protection of workers in coal mining enterprises should not only choose the respiratory protective equipment suitable for coal mines, but also the management work such as timely distribution, correct use and regular maintenance is equally important. The results of this survey can provide a basis for the selection and safe management of respiratory protective equipment and the prevention and control of pneumoconiosis in coal mining enterprises.
