Dam resettlement management involves complex challenges, including economic compensation, infrastructure reconstruction, and the maintenance of social stability. Traditional management methods often struggle with issues such as slow information flow, labor-intensive data handling, and inefficient decision-making, which fall short of meeting modern management requirements. The integration of digital technology has markedly improved the efficiency of resettlement management processes. By establishing a unified data platform, information can be rapidly gathered, transmitted, and processed, thereby minimizing the time and labor associated with traditional manual operations and enhancing overall management effectiveness. Digital management technologies ensure data accuracy and timeliness through automated data collection and analysis, reducing the errors and delays common in manual processes, and enabling more scientific and timely decision-making. Consequently, dam resettlement management has progressed from an isolated approach to an interconnected one, and now to a digital stage. This paper will review and analyze the historical evolution of digital technology in dam resettlement management, assess its characteristics and effectiveness across different stages, and present various case studies of its application. Finally, the paper will explore future directions for the advancement of digital technology in dam resettlement management.
