摘要
The Shanghai High-Repetition-Rate XFEL and Extreme Light Facility ( SHINE ), currently under construction in Shanghai, China, is a fourth-generation large scientific facility for X-ray sources. To obtain high-quality radiation light, there must be a high-quality electron beam. Among the many factors affecting the beam quality, the micro bunch instability caused by space charge is an important aspect and a difficult problem that must be solved in the main accelerator. Too high a gain of micro bunch instability will cause serious bunch slice energy dispersion and beam loss, which will lead to the destruction of beam quality. As a result, the gain length of the subsequent radiation section will increase or even fail to emit light normally. The laser heating undulator can well control the micro bunch instability. This paper introduces the design, manufacture and debugging results of laser heating undulator.
