摘要
The National Ignition Facility (NIF) has achieved remarkable success using high-power lasers to ignite fusion, drawing increased interest from institutions and scientists in the field of controllable fusion science. Additionally, intense heavy ion beams extracted from accelerators are being explored as an alternative method to drive fusion ignition. These beams offer advantages such as high efficiency and high repetition rates. In China, a new high-intensity heavy ion accelerator facility, known as HIAF, is under construction. This facility will produce heavy ion beams with high intensity, short pulse length, and well-focused. In our research plan, the high-energy-density matter will be generated and its properties will be investigated through experimental methods. In the future, we plan to employ a dual-beam approach, where one beam compresses the matter while the other heats it, thereby experimentally validating the heavy ion beam-driven Inertial Confinement Fusion (ICF) concept. More details will be presented at this conference.
