Induction heat treatment technology is to improve the performance of the workpiece through rapid heating by electromagnetic heat generation and rapid cooling with quenching, and is widely used in aerospace, automobile manufacturing, industrial machinery as well as other important fields. In this paper, the electromagnetic field, temperature field, phase change dynamics, stress/strain field and interaction coupling field involved in induction heat treatment process are systematically introduced, and the basic principle of numerical simulation of induction heat treatment process is expounded. By discussing the development history of numerical simulation of induction heat treatment process and analyzing typical numerical simulation cases of induction heat treatment process, the research progress and challenges are summarized, and the future development is prospected.
