Research and Application Progress of Digital Twin Technology in Heat Treatment

With the continuous advancement of intelligent manufacturing, Industry 4.0 and the concept of lean production, as well as the popularization of technologies such as big data and artificial intelligence (AI), the manufacturing industry is exhibiting a highly digitalized and automated trend, with the production process and mode gradually becoming intelligent and integrated. Traditional heat treatment processes and equipment have become inadequate to  meet the changes and upgrades of the industry in the new era. Therefore, digital twin technology has emerged as a critical breakthrough in transitioning heat treatment from empirical-driven approaches to model-driven methodologies.This paper comprehensively examines the research and application progress of digital twin in heat treatment from the aspects of technology and equipment, and it identifies current challenges and proposes future development directions based on existing limitations.
