Research on Spectral Radiance Stability under UV Region of Deuterium Lamp

Deuterium lamps are important light sources in the ultraviolet band, particularly for applications in ultraviolet photoelectron spectrometers. The research employed three stability measurement methods: Coefficient of Variation (CV), Peak-Peak (P-P), and Range Normalization Index (RNI), to assess the stability across different wavelengths. The results indicate that the stability varies significantly with wavelength, with the best performance observed at 250 nm. The stability at near-UV wavelengths is better than that at vacuum UV wavelengths. Long-term operation leads to a decrease in spectral radiance, suggesting factors such as filament aging, power supply instability, and contamination of the vacuum system may be the potential causes. The research underscores the importance of regular maintenance to ensure optimal performance and stability of deuterium lamps in scientific research and industrial applications.
