The One Health concept underscores the interdependence of human, animal, and environmental health, crucial for managing complex infectious diseases like bovine viral diarrhea (BVD). Bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV) severely impacts livestock health, causing significant economic losses and indirectly affecting human health and agricultural sustainability through compromised food security and livelihoods. This study explores the molecular mechanisms by which BVDV manipulates host metabolic pathways, particularly enhancing glycolysis to evade innate immunity by inhibiting RIG-I signaling and type I interferon production. Understanding these interactions through a One Health lens enables the development of more effective strategies for disease control, benefiting both animal health and global sustainability.
