Chickens are susceptible to wind-chill in winter and spring, resulting in fever, watery feces, increased sputum, runny nose, and many other symptoms, which, if not treated in time, can lead to the death of sick chickens and cause significant losses to the farming industry. In view of the side effects of antibiotic abuse, Chinese veterinary medicine has become the preferred choice for the treatment of avian diseases. Chai Gui Sense Cold Oral Liquid is a compound preparation of Chinese veterinary medicine developed by Henan Muxiang animal pharmaceutical co. LTD, which has the efficacy of harmonizing and dissolving cold, generating fluids and astringing yin. In this study, through pharmacodynamics, toxicology and clinical trials, the antipyretic and anti-inflammatory effects of Chai Gui Sense Cold Oral Liquid and its significant efficacy against wind-cold flu in chickens were verified, and the safety of this preparation was proved to be high, without toxic side effects. There is no pharmacodynamic study on the treatment of wind-cold cold in poultry by Chai Gui preparation in the field of Chinese veterinary medicine, so it is of great significance to clarify the pharmacological and toxicological properties of Chai Gui Sense Cold Oral Liquid in order to meet the needs of clinical use of the drug in poultry.
