Porcine epidemic diarrhea (PED) is a disease caused by the porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV), which is a highly infectious disease characterized by severe diarrhea, vomiting, and dehydration. PEDV can infect pigs of all ages, but the mortality rate of piglets under two weeks of age is as high as 100%. Injecting antibiotics into sick pigs can effectively relieve the condition. However, long-term and irregular excessive use of antibiotics not only causes drug resistance in the animal body but also disrupts the balance of the normal flora of the body, posing a hidden danger to public health and safety, which violates the "One Health" concept. We have found that when piglets are infected with PEDV, the abundance of Lactobacillus in the intestinal flora decreases, and the development of ILC3 is also affected. Then, without using antibiotics, if we supplement probiotics to sick pigs, will it restore the development of ILC3 and thus resist the infection of PEDV?
