The ability to control diseases can affect the production level and economic benefits of the aquaculture industry. Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea Virus (PEDV) is a highly contagious virus that can cause Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea (PED). The virus infection can lead to an increase in piglet mortality and cause economic losses in the pig farming industry.Matrine (MT), as a component of Sophora flavescens, is a naturally occurring alkaloid that has the effect of treating damp heat diarrhea. This project selects MT as a drug to investigate its impact on PEDV infection, providing a biological basis for the development of a single component of traditional Chinese medicine to control the spread of the disease.
