The compressor serves as the essential apparatus for the extraction, aggregation, transportation, and processing of natural gas. In response to the demands of online oil monitoring for natural gas compressor units, a design scheme for a  oil online monitoring system based on EIS sensor, metal-particle sensor and WLAN (Lora+5G) has been proposed. This involves the establishment of a low-latency, low-power data transmission network dedicated to monitoring oil in natural gas compressor units, alongside the development of an integrated monitoring system encompassing terminal, edge, and cloud platforms. The optimization and development process focused on sensor selection and arrangement, edge gateway innovation, software architecture design, and the formulation of intelligent oil evaluation algorithms. The system was implemented in the Sulige gas field, where application results demonstrated that the newly designed oil online monitoring system effectively addresses the limitations of the existing architecture concerning signal transmission and data aggregation. It enables real-time monitoring, diagnosis, and prediction of lubrication faults and abnormal wear in compressor units, thereby enhancing fault response efficiency and advancing the levels of informatization, digitization, and intelligence in oil detection and preventive maintenance.
