Parity Space-Based Fault Detectability Analysis for Linear Discrete Time-Varying Systems

This paper presents a fault detectability analysis scheme for linear discrete time-varying systems based on parity space. First, the parity equations are constructed using time-varying parameter matrices. Then, the Euclidean distance-based detectability evaluation indices are introduced for system analysis, taking into account prior information on actuator and sensor faults. Next, the paper introduces an optimization scheme based on \(H_i/H_{\infty}\)  for parity space-based fault detection, and proposes a residual-based evaluation index to analyze the detection performance of this method. These two indices can serve as references for evaluating the detection performance and determining the parameters of the parity space-based scheme. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed approach is validated through simulations on a flight control system of an unmanned automotive vehicle (UAV).
