Aiming at the problems of low efficiency and high stress of traditional detection methods for low laying hens, and the existing hyperspectral technology is susceptible to image blur and noise interference, this study proposed an accurate detection method and system for low laying hens based on hyperspectral image and deep learning model. The system obtains hyperspectral images of laying hens through mobile data acquisition platform, generates static images combined with 454nm, 458nm and 462nm bands, and constructs a training set after eliminating fuzzy images through Canny edge detection. The improved Yolov8n-seg model was used to segment the comb region, and the identification model combined with the superpixel segmentation algorithm (SLIC) and the three-dimensional residual module (ImprovedResNet3D) was used to achieve individual classification by the proportion threshold of low-yield and normal class super-pixel blocks. The experimental results show that the pixel block classification accuracy is 87.33% (low yield) and 87.68% (normal), and the individual recognition accuracy is more than 97%. The system can automate the screening of low-production hens, reduce resource waste, and provide efficient, non-invasive and intelligent management solutions for farms, significantly improving production efficiency and sustainability.
