Optimization Algorithm of Transparent Repeater Gain Setting in Satellite Communication Systems

It is significant to promote the power utilization efficiency nowadays for lack of on-board power resource in satellite communication systems. A power allocation model that aims at getting the maximum system capacity of joint repeater gain setting and power allocation is set up in the paper. Afterwards, the joint power allocation and repeater gain setting optimization algorithm is proposed. The algorithm based on duality theory and steepest descent algorithm isn’t a convex function for the repeater gain. A method is put forward to work out the optimization problem and try to prove the algorithm can obtain the optimal results. The simulation results show that the algorithm designed in the paper can get the power allocation for the optimum transparent repeater gain value and the maximum system capacity.
