Digital forensic is part of forensic science that unconditionally covers crime that is related to computer technology. Data generation and analysis are important in cyber world. In a cyber crime, digital evidence examination requires a special procedures and techniques in order to be used and be accepted in court of law. The collection of evidence is an important aspect for the investigator. Data is to be collected from different sources of crime scene and it involves data gathering and later it would get analyzed by the examiner. In cyber crime data involves log data, transnational data, physical drive data, network data, etc., which tends to plenty of data storage and is required to be analyzed in minimum time for law enforcement. This paper focuses on data collection from network and file forensic analysis. The proposed methods can be used to collect data over the network, as crime happens, file forensic analysis of victim machine. The Digital forensic Toolkit 4.0 provides to generate forensic evidence in systematic manner so that forensic investigation would be accepted in court for law.
