Analysis of Motion Characteristics of Magnetron Circuit Breaker

The mechanism motion characteristic of vacuum circuit breaker based on magnetron alloy are investigated experimentally and theoretically in this paper. The influence of peak and rising rate of pulse driving current for magnetron alloy on the magnetization intensity, magnetizing time, demagnetization time are measured. Meanwhile, the mechanical delay time, displacement and contacts bounce in the opening and closing processes are achieved for different magnetization intensities. With the simulation model for transient motion of the magnetron-alloy mechanism developed, the gap magnetic field intensity, displacement and speed in the mechanism motion are analyzed carefully. The computed displacement and speed for the mechanism agree with the experimental result within the error range, which validates the feasibility and effectiveness of simulation model well. Finally, the optimization scheme for the magnetron-alloy mechanism is proposed based on the theoretical assessment, which provides foundation for improving the operating performance of magnetron breaker.
