Fault diagnosis and maintenance of the manufacturing equipment are essential for the factories to achieve high productivity and high quality of products. This study develops a management system based on network collaboration for fault diagnosis and maintenance to fill information gap among different equipment, improve the services of the equipment manufacturers and provide guidance to inexperienced maintainers.
First, we present a novel conceptual model and framework of the process of fault diagnosis and maintenance, which depicts the details of system functions. Second we propose three fault diagnosis methods to give diagnosis solutions and provide equipment maintenance support service based on life cycle. Finally, the proposed system is implemented, which is built on a four-tier architecture, including seven components: system management, basic information management, account management, equipment management, case management, online diagnosis and knowledge community.
