It is my great honor to welcome you to GCT2017 (2017 CAS-TWAS Symposium on Green Chemistry and Technology for Sustainable Development), which will be held in Beijing, China on September 4-6, 2017. GCT2017 is hosted by Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), the World Academy of Sciences for the Advancement of Science in Developing Countries (TWAS) and Institute of Process Engineering (IPE) of CAS, and organized by CAS-TWAS Centre of Excellence for Green Technology (CEGT) and the journal of Green Energy & Environment (GEE).
Under the trend of the energy crisis and ecological environment protection, sustainable development has become more and more important for developing countries as well as the whole world. The symposium aims to provide an international, frontier and high efficient platform for the academic exchange of novel ideas and latest research progresses in the field of green chemistry and technology for sustainable development. And it will promote the communication and cooperation between scientists, engineers, practitioners, and policymakers all around the world. The topics of this symposium will cover a wide spectrum of engineering science, including green solvent and green chemistry, renewable energy and energy storage, catalysis for green process, biofuels and bioenergy, environmental pollution control, electrochemistry and materials chemistry, computation modeling and Simulation, and other related topics.
I stand for all of my colleagues to welcome our friends who come from afar. Thanks to all the speakers and chairs as well as the volunteers, sponsors and exhibitors. Thanks for their generous support and assistance for this symposium.
