On behalf of the organizing committee, it is a pleasure for us to welcome all the delegates and their guests to the 54th Annual Meeting of the Society for Cryobiology in the city of Hefei, Anhui Province, China. The meeting will take place from July 20 to 24, 2017 at the Fengda International Hotel, a super five-star business hotel.

The Meeting is jointly organized with the China Medicinal Biotech Association (CMBA), the Biobank Association and several Chinese societies. The theme that we have chosen for this year’s meeting is “Cryopreservation and Banking Bio-resources for Advanced Research, Modern Agriculture and Precision Medicine”. The program features a range of inspiring keynote addresses. They will cover the Science of Cryobiology, Cryopreservation and Biobanking, Cryotherapeutic Intervention, Cryosurgery, and Natural System Adaptation. This theme also gives us an opportunity to discuss the future direction of the field of cryobiology in terms of technologies, research, and beyond. We are thankful to the many international speakers who will shed light on the research and technology issues that shape our field today.

Hefei is an exceptional location for the meeting. Located in-between two sparkling rivers and the towering Yellow mountains to the Southeast provides a unique and spectacular setting. The city is known for many historic sites and parks. Hefei also has a unique style of cuisine different from the rest of China.

The CRYO2017 meeting will provide a wonderful forum for you to refresh your knowledge base and explore the innovations in cryobiology. The meeting will strive to offer plenty of networking opportunities, providing you with the chance to meet and interact with the leading scientists and researchers, friends and colleagues as well as sponsors and exhibitors.
