The Sino-French Associated International Laboratory (LIASFMA), co-chaired by Profs. Tatsien Li (Fudan University) and Jean-Michel Coron (Pierre and Marie Curie University), was established at Xiamen University in June 2014, on the occasion of the first Sino-French Conference on Computational and Applied Mathematics. Now, three years later, we are organizing in Xiamen another Sino-French Conference on Modeling, Mathematical Analysis and Computation to be held June 9-12, 2017. This event will also provide an opportunity to celebrate the 70th birthday of Prof. Claude-Michel Brauner, Professor Emeritus at the University of Bordeaux, who, for the past eight academic years, has been a member of the faculty of our School. As the representative for SMAI (French SIAM) in China, he contributed significantly to the development of Sino-French relations in Applied Mathematics. Xiamen (formerly Amoy) is a beautiful island city directly across the Strait from Taiwan. Located adjacent to the famous Nanputuo Temple, the campus of Xiamen University, with its beautiful scenery and park-like environment, is very picturesque.
