The Institute for Economic and Social Research (IESR) of Jinan University will hold the 2017 International Symposium on Contemporary Labor Economics on December 16th and 17th, 2017 in Guangzhou, China. The symposium is jointly organized by IESR, the Wang Yanan Institute for Studies in Economics (WISE) of Xiamen University and the Department of Economics of the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

The purpose of this symposium is to facilitate the exchange of ideas between Chinese and international scholars on labor economics. We invite submissions from all areas related to labor economics, including but not limited to employment and unemployment, education and human capital, population and aging, marriage and intra-household decision, internal migration and urbanization, trade and labor market, and income distribution and inequality. Empirical research or theoretical work with empirical applications to Chinese labor market is particularly welcome.
