Full papers focusing on the Symposium themes should reach the Organizers no later than 31st January 2018. Papers should be prepared using the template provided and submitted as a PDF file attachment using the online submission form available. Contributions in the form of short papers (3-4 pages) will also be accepted. The official languages of the Symposium are English and Italian. Papers may freely be submitted in English or Italian (or both) for inclusion in English and Italian sessions, respectively.

Papers will be selected following evaluation by an international panel of referees. Acceptance of papers will be notified to the corresponding author by 15th February 2018. If notification has not been received by the above date, authors should contact the organizers.

Accepted papers will qualify the presenting author alone for payment of a discounted author’s registration fee, which must be paid strictly at the time of papers acceptance.

Authors presenting their work in an oral session will also be requested to submit their PowerPoint presentations no later than14th May 2018.

All papers accepted to the SUM2018 will be published on a dedicated volume of Symposium proceedings. All accepted papers will be also peer-reviewed for being included in a special issue of Waste Management Journal (IF 3.220) in the field, published by Elsevier, on 'Urban Mining and Circular Economy'.
