活动简介

The 2013 AOSWA (Asia‐Oceania Space Weather Alliance) Workshop on Space Environment Impacts and Space Weather Forecast Models will be held during 4‐7 November 2013 in Kunming, China. The workshop will be co‐hosted by the National Space Science Center (NSSC) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and by the National Astronomical Observatories (NAO), including Yunnan Astronomical Observatory (YNAO) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. As a historical and cultural city, Kunming has become the center for research activities and observations on space environment in Southwestern China. Of course, Kunming is also a famous destination of tourists in the world. This will be the 2nd workshop held by AOSWA. AOSWA seeks both global and regional cooperation on the development of research and practical operation of space weather, and kicked off the regional alliance for space weather among Asian and Oceania countries. The purpose of this workshop is to promote the regional linkage and information sharing of operation and research on space environment by bringing together members of the Asian‐Oceania scientific community as well as other international organizations concerning with space weather. The scientific sessions of this workshop will encompass the research on solar cycle activity especially on the current solar cycle, ionosphere and related applications, radiation environment (radiation belt, cosmic rays, solar particle radiation) and effects, the construction of space weather forecast models, research to operations (R2O), and international coordination on space weather forecasting, etc. This workshop will provide an opportunity in which various communities can come and discuss recent achievements of observational, theoretical, modeling, forecasting, and application addressing the aforementioned areas. Moreover, there will be a special focus on collaborations among Asian and Oceania countries in the field of space weather, and a discussion on the current and upcoming regional space utilization and development will also be included. The workshop will be open to the international research community of space weather and space environment. It will include invited, contributed oral and poster presentations. Further information concerning the registration and conference will be available at the workshop official website:
