Achieving harmony between human beings and the information environment is one of the major issues in the field of computer science. The aim of this workshop is to bring researchers from academia and industries, who are interested in establishing Human--Harmonized Information Technology.
One of the keys is sensing human behaviors to understand the internal state and to make for the harmonious interaction between people and the environment. Human vision particularly has important roles since gaze behavior reflects the internal state and correlates with human action and visual attention affects the human behaviors. Researchers have devoted increased attention to sensing the gaze behavior and the visual attention because the sensing technologies have made great progress but they still have various practical problems. We attempt to share recent advances and discuss future research directions for human behavior sensing and its application to human--machine interaction at the workshop.
