The 2015 Gordon Research Conference on Fibronectin, Integrins and Related Molecules will be held May 10th-15th at the Il Ciocco Hotel and Resort, Lucca (Barga), Italy. This conference has transformed into the premier international conference for academic, government and industry scientists interested in understanding how integrins and related extracellular matrix receptors sense and integrate biophysical and biochemical cues from the microenvironment to modulate tissue development and homeostasis. The program crosses length scales from the molecular to the organismal level and incorporates nanoscale experiments examining single molecule structure-function, cellular level studies of adhesion signaling and work addressing the impact of dimensionality and multicellularity in culture and in vivo that reflects advances related to normal and diseased tissue behavior. The program encompasses the latest studies and state of the art developments in imaging, modeling, model systems and technologies, mechanobiology, and clinical translation. The 2015 Gordon Research Conference on Fibronectin, Integrins and Related Molecules seeks to reflect the emerging interdisciplinary nature of the integrin and extracellular matrix receptor field spanning a broad range of new concepts, techniques and technologies aimed at clarifying how integrins and their related receptors and ligands influence cell behavior. The conference will also reflect the diversity of junior and senior researchers representing the physical and life sciences fields. Emphasis will be placed on communicating major recent conceptual and experimental advances and will highlight exciting new avenues of investigation, with a focus on unpublished data and stimulating active discussion amongst participants at all levels and from diverse disciplines. We look forward to including in the program approximately 5-20 short talks selected from the applicants and two poster sessions.
