The "Elastin, Elastic Fibers and Microfibrils" Gordon Research Conference is the leading international forum for the presentation and discussion of cutting edge research on molecules of the elastic fiber/microfibril system and the roles these molecules play in development, tissue homeostasis and disease. Sessions and presentations cover topics including evolutionary and developmental biology, high-resolution structural and functional studies, modeling of fiber assembly, modulation of growth factor signaling and gene expression, genetic and acquired diseases, animal models and the latest innovations in genome editing, stem cell research, bio- and nano-materials and their use in regenerative medicine. Poster sessions will enhance interactions among participants. The best poster abstracts will be selected for short talks. The collegial atmosphere, informal setting, and format of the conference foster opportunities to develop new ideas and collaborations. Our 2015 conference will continue to host the Gordon Research Seminar for students, postdoctoral fellows and early career investigators to facilitate their scientific development in the field.
