Unconventional reservoir development is mostly responsible for the dramatic growth in energy supplies over the last few years. North America is now essentially self-sufficient in natural gas and liquid hydrocarbons – something that even 5 years ago would have been difficult to believe possible. While the increase in supply has been a boon for energy consumers and has spurred growth in industries using energy, the reduction in prices has had the opposite effect on the energy industry. This means the industry must seek ways to be more efficient and innovative in order to continue to develop unconventional resources.
TheSPE Canadian Unconventional Resources Conference is perhaps the most dedicated event where E&P professionals can share and discuss the latest in technologies, challenges and solutions to developing and producing these difficult reservoirs.
