The Symposium is held every August and is a joint effort between the American Association of Drilling Engineers (AADE), the Delta Section of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), and the New Orleans Geological Society (NOGS). The symposium is now in its 20th year and is set for Wednesday, August 17th and Thursday, August 18th, 2016.
This is the premier Deepwater Technical Symposium focused on the Gulf of Mexico. Last year’s event attracted over 500 industry professionals and over 100 students from across the spectrum of technical disciplines that enable deepwater oil and gas development. These attendees are a mixture of staff from oil & gas companies, service providers, government agencies, and academia as well as students from universities across the gulf coast interested in joining our industry. The theme of this year’s symposium is “Deepwater 2016 - Innovation Is Our Future”. The overall goal of the symposium is to share knowledge, best practices, new technologies, and improvements to existing technologies with a focus on case studies.
If you would like to present at the symposium an abstract of your presentation is due by April 29th, 2016. Since you have the option to decline publication of your presentation materials the symposium presents a unique opportunity to share and learn from each other freely.
