International Systems and Software Product Line Conference, is the premier forum for practitioners, researchers and educators to present and discuss the most recent ideas, innovations, trends, experiences, and concerns in the area of software product lines, software product family engineering and, more in general, systems family engineering.
The 20th International Systems and Software Product Line Conference will be held during September 19th to 23rd, 2016, in Beijing, China. It will include a highly selective program of research papers and industry papers, accompanied by workshops, demonstrations and keynote speeches. We welcome high quality papers that describe original and unpublished research advancing the state of the art in software product line. SPLC 2016 will feature the first Most-Influential-Paper Award in addition to the regular Best Paper Awards.
Research Papers: High quality research work that uses established scientific methodologies, written using high standards of academic technical publications, i.e., original and unpublished results in all areas related to software and system product line engineering.
Software Industry Papers: Challenges, innovations and solutions to concrete industrial applications of software product line engineering tools and methodologies. In addition, this track covers all aspects of software ecosystems from an industrial perspective. These papers should have a significant software component to the research (see the Systems Engineering track otherwise).
Vision Papers: Papers that reach out to new communities around product lines, explore unusual interdisciplinary research, synergies with other fields, or present disruptive innovations. These papers should not be traditional SPLC research papers in a shorter form.
Systems Engineering Papers: The track solicits both research-oriented and/or industry-oriented papers, which are explicitly aimed at product lines residing primarily in the Systems Engineering space. Specifically, this track is for papers addressing product line engineering where the focus extends beyond software to other lifecycle phases (design, testing, mechanical, electrical, operations, portfolio management, manufacturing, systems modeling, simulation, etc.) and/or concerns across all stakeholder organizations. Industry or research papers focusing primarily on software product lines should be submitted to the traditional industry and research tracks.
