活动简介

The Gordon Research Conference (GRC) on the Cell Biology of Megakaryocytes and Platelets is the premier international scientific meeting focused on the biology of the megakaryocyte lineage, from HSCs through to platelets. Fusing the latest developments in fundamental science with high-impact translational research, this, the 7th biennial meeting, will provide a stimulating program featuring an international mix of established and up-and-coming researchers.

Sessions will cover a diverse range of topics, including megakaryocyte lineage development, progress in identifying the causes of congenital disorders of platelet number and function, myeloproliferative disease and acute megakaryoblastic leukemia, platelet signalling, the role of platelets in settings such as cancer and immunity, and new therapeutic approaches to diseases both of, and involving, the megakaryocyte lineage.

Known for its collegial and inclusive atmosphere, the meeting draws a mixture of scientists, clinicians and industry representatives. It provides the ideal setting for cross-fertilization of ideas, conceptual advances, and the promotion of collaborations.

This GRC is tied in with a two-day Gordon Research Seminar (GRS) for trainees interested in the field, giving them the opportunity to present their research, and gain insights from senior academic and industry investigators in this area. This will be enhanced by a panel discussion on developing a research career in academia and industry. Furthermore, abstracts submitted to the GRS by trainees will be scored by a panel, and the highest rated will be selected for oral presentation during the GRC.
