The Gordon Research Seminar on Plant-Herbivore Interaction is a unique forum for graduate students, post-docs, and other scientists with comparable levels of experience and education to present and exchange new data and cutting edge ideas.
Our inaugural GRS will cover a wide range of topics, reflecting the diversity of the field, while simultaneously focusing on issues of scale. Plants and their consumers interact at a mind-boggling array of scales, from molecular warfare occurring on the underside of a leaf to continent-wide invasions and species radiations playing out over millions of years. Investigators in this arena are uniquely placed to answer integrative questions that address both basic concepts and emergent properties in biology. This GRS will provide the next generation of plant-herbivore biologists with an intimate meeting to present and discuss new findings and future directions of the field with their peers. Mentors at different stages of their scientific careers will also be on hand to provide feedback and guidance.
