The Gordon Research Seminar on Molecular Membrane Biology is a unique forum for graduate students, post-docs, and other scientists with comparable levels of experience and education to present and exchange new data and innovative ideas. The GRS provides a great opportunity for young scientists to build collaborations and informal networks prior to the arrival of senior investigators at the Gordon Research Conference (GRC) in Molecular Membrane Biology.
The focus of this meeting is to discuss outstanding discoveries in protein targeting and trafficking, organelle remodeling and dynamics, lipid biology, and membrane identity. The meeting will feature a keynote lecture by Dr. Jennifer Lippincott-Schwartz, whose lab employs cutting edge fluorescence-based technologies to study these topics. A mentorship component will also be included in the GRS program and will deal with the less discussed aspects of scientific life that many young scientists must face, such as work-life balance, scientific soft skills and more.
